Kotuku Marae Noho

An absolute success! We had a fabulous marae noho and were supported by many of the staff, parents and community. Our boys went through the rituals of welcome and did an awesome powhiri. We said goodbye to whaea Koka Kylie who now has a job at the New Zealand Herald. Later in the evening, we said a BIG thank you to all the volunteers who have come this term to support TWA students. Nga mihi nui!

  6. Wow! That was indeed a great night. To be able to acknowledge all those that supported the previous noho was very important.
Atunisca and Rawiri you set the standard right from the beginning with a confident call to the Manuhiri.
Matariki and Rehia the clarity of your korero impressed all present. The tautoko waiata from the rest of you boys was Tu Meke .
To hear Matua Fou speak in Samoan and Matua Des Barione tautoko waiata just kept the momentum going .
The waiata as the manuhiri were eating just 'blew' everyone away.
Two weeks later and I feel just as proud and excited as I did on the night.
    well done to you all

  10. I have been looking back over the term. I found this site and my face lit up. There were so many wonderful things about the night. I hope that Matua Des organises something similar soon.
Boys it was a success because you all played your part and what great hosts you were.
